The main takeaway I'd like readers to have from this book is hope. That's it. Life can be so complicated. Relationships reflect life. It seems to me that it's becoming more and more difficult to develop and sustain deep relationships. So much of everyday life makes it hard to form solid friendships. But we need them. And we can choose to spend the time necessary towards developing them.

Over the years I've worked as a freelance journalist for a variety of magazines and newspapers. But 20 SHORT ONES represents a move into Christian fiction. It's been an exciting adventure!
20 SHORT ONES is a collection of 20 short stories. Most of them are semi autobiographical. The settings include Northern Ireland, New York City, Chicago, Kalamazoo and Colorado. In each case the beginnings of a relationship are explored.
20 SHORT ONES isn't a self-help book, so it doesn't offer up any sort of counsel in regards to relationship-building or romance. But better than that, it offers up hope and humor!
I live in Michigan. I'm the fourth of eight amazing siblings whose names all start with the letter "D." I'm the runt of the litter, being a strapping 5' 1" with other sibs coming in over or close to 6' tall.
